Maxime Gilbert started his own IT services company in 2009. At the time, the company was active in the installation of commercial management systems, production systems and websites. Maxime Gilbert explains how his business has evolved with the rise of online sales: “In 2019, we realised that, despite the prospects of e-commerce, many PME were finding it difficult to find a partner for the creation of websites with advanced functionalities. Many clients had already had two or even three failed website projects before they met us. So we decided to focus exclusively on e-commerce website development and created WiMakeIT.

WiMakeIT, Magento expert

There are many online sales solutions. Dedicating its activity to the development of E-commerce websites and wishing to bring competitive solutions to its customers, WiMakeIT has naturally made the technical choice to work exclusively with the Open Source solution Magento, recognized as one of the most powerful E-commerce platforms in the world. This CMS allows the development of royalty-free E-commerce websites, with numerous functionalities giving its users all the control and flexibility they want over their website. Magento is accessible to any independent, small or large company and is also used by the largest accounts such as Coca Cola, Louboutin, Samsung, or Nespresso.

Mr. Gilbert: “We are the only agency in Wallonia to be dedicated to Magento and to be certified by Adobe. We were surprised by the fact that this solution is only just beginning to be known in Wallonia, even though it is already widely used in Flanders and in all neighbouring countries.

No to manual tasks!

At WiMakeIT, the consultants are hunting down the manual tasks of their customers. Synchronising newsletter subscribers, feeding the Facebook product catalogue, creating products or entering orders are all examples of tasks that need to be automated. “The e-tailer should focus on tasks that really add value: analysing user behaviour, responding to customers, responding to competitors’ actions, testing new markets, etc.” explains M. Gilbert.

Success is in the details

If you want to create an online shoe or clothing shop, it is very easy to find a solution that allows you to present and sell your products online (social networks, marketplaces, etc.). However, this will not be enough to develop a sustainable business and take significant market share from competitors. “E-commerce requires not only a professional shop window, advanced features to optimise the user experience, but also an E-marketing strategy and a well thought-out product positioning.  These aspects are always emphasised and analysed by our team when a client calls on our services.
