The Meilisearch companion of wimakeit/module-stock-status. If your category and search listings are drawn from Meilisearch rather than from a Magento product collection, install this one too: without it, the status appears on product pages and nowhere else.

You install this module in addition to the main module — never instead of it. The main module owns the rules, the indexer and the rendering; this one owns the delivery of that rendering into a listing built client-side.

Who it's for

  • Stores running the Walkwizus Meilisearch stack for category and search listings
  • Merchants who added custom stock statuses and found them missing from every listing page
  • Projects where availability is a buying signal on the listing, not only on the product page

Key benefits

  • Statuses on Meilisearch listings — cards drawn from search documents receive the same status, colour and icon as the product page, through the very mechanism the listing already uses to fetch prices.
  • Correct per visitor — the status is resolved per request with the visitor's customer group and the current time. Freezing it into the search documents would have been simpler and would show a wholesale-only label to a retail visitor, and a finished promise after its end date.
  • No flicker, no wrong answer — the status is rendered in the server-side pass as well, so the first paint is already right. A theme printing its own availability line never shows a value it is about to retract.
  • Fast — the statuses already computed for the first paint are handed to the page, so cards do not wait a round trip for an answer the server has. Measured on a ten-card search: statuses on screen at 131 ms, against 675 ms of blank cards without it.
  • One query per page — the whole page of products is read from the index in a single query, on both the server-side pass and the fragment request, rather than one query per card.
  • Nothing to configure — turn listings on in the main module and this package does the rest.

Compatibility

  • Magento 2.4.x / Mage-OS equivalent
  • PHP 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, 8.4
  • Requires wimakeit/module-stock-status 1.0 or later
  • Requires walkwizus/magento2-module-meilisearch with its frontend module
  • Hyvä storefronts: install wimakeit/module-stock-status-hyva as well

Install this module via Composer. Make sure your auth.json is configured with your Wimakeit credentials.

Terminal
$ composer require wimakeit/module-stock-status-meilisearch:^1.3.3
$ bin/magento setup:upgrade
$ bin/magento setup:di:compile

Installation notes

The standard composer require + setup:upgrade + setup:di:compile flow applies. The points below cover what's specific to this module.

Required Wimakeit dependency

This module is a listing addon. It cannot work on its own — install the main module alongside it:

PackageMinimumRole
wimakeit/module-stock-status1.0owns the rules, the indexer, the configuration and the rendering
wimakeit/module-stock-status-meilisearchthis moduledelivers that rendering into a Meilisearch listing

Required third-party dependency

| Package | |---| | walkwizus/magento2-module-meilisearch (with its frontend module enabled) |

If your listings are rendered by Magento's own product collection, skip this module — the main package already covers them.

Configuration

There is no admin configuration specific to this module. One setting in the main module governs it:

SettingDefaultPath
Show On Category ListingsNoStores → Configuration → Wimakeit → Stock Status → Display

Set it to Yes. With it off, this module registers nothing at all and a listing costs exactly what it did before.

Placing the status on the card

Every registered fragment gets a host element in the card, so installing the package already puts the status on screen — wherever the theme's generic fragment loop sits, usually beside the price.

To place it deliberately, give it a host of its own and keep it out of the generic loop:

<div class="wm-stock-fragment" data-fragment="wimakeit_stock_status" :data-sku="hit.sku"></div>

<template x-for="fragment in $store.meilisearch.meilisearchFragments.filter(f => f !== 'wimakeit_stock_status')"
          :key="fragment">
    <div :data-fragment="fragment" :data-sku="hit.sku"></div>
</template>

For the server-rendered pass, the search document's product id is all that is needed:

<?php $wm = $block->getChildBlock('wimakeit.stock.status.hit'); ?>
<?= /* @noEscape */ $wm ? $wm->setData('product_id', (int) $hit['id'])->toHtml() : '' ?>

Replacing the theme's own availability line

Mark that line wm-stock-fallback next to the fragment host. This module's stylesheet keeps it hidden until the answer is in, then reveals it only if the answer was "no status" — and only when Native Stock Information is set to Replace.

<div class="wm-stock-fragment" data-fragment="wimakeit_stock_status" :data-sku="hit.sku"></div>
<p class="your-stock-line wm-stock-fallback"> ... </p>

Cost

One query per page on both paths, not one per card. Nothing is added to the Meilisearch index and no indexer has to be re-run for this module.
