Case study – multi-site Magento2 Commerce websites for Bayard Milan
Bayard Presse Benelux chose WiMakeIT to run three e-commerce sites on a single Magento2 Commerce instance, with subscriptions.
To keep pace with its growing business, Bayard Presse Benelux wanted to launch a website on Magento2 Commerce. Magento2 comes in two editions:
- Magento2 Open Source, free of charge and extendable with a wide range of optional extensions (gift vouchers, loyalty points, blog, etc.);
- Magento2 Commerce, a paid edition chosen by the biggest e-commerce players, with many advanced features built in (customer segmentation, B2B features, product recommendations, etc.).
Bayard Milan therefore set out to find an e-commerce agency specialising in Magento and based in Brussels or Wallonia. Its choice naturally fell on WiMakeIT, located in the heart of Wallonia and the only certified web agency dedicated to Magento in the area.
Working with Bayard Milan, our team put a range of new features in place:
- MultiSafepay online payments, offering modern, simple and innovative payment options;

- A single Magento2 instance hosting all 3 e-commerce sites, streamlining resources, licences and site maintenance;

- Subscription management built around the user experience: visitors can take out a print subscription, delivered every month, combined with an exclusive digital subscription;

- Tailored management of promotional offers and gifts for different occasions (birthdays, back to school, etc.).

- An advanced layout tool that lets the client change the design of its pages itself and add product carousels, promotional sliders and more, without calling on developers.

As with any project of this scale, particular attention was also paid to website performance so the site could handle hundreds of simultaneous orders when marketing campaigns go live.
The end result: a delighted client with a modern, effective online shop!
