E-M-Store — Men’s, women’s and kids’ fashion with catalogue sync via supplier APIs

E-M-Store offers tens of thousands of fashion items for men, women and children. A catalogue of that size cannot be maintained by hand — automation is the only viable option.

The project did not start with WiMakeIT. A first provider without the necessary technical skills had been chosen, then dropped. WiMakeIT took over and delivered a Magento site within a few months.

The challenge

Rescuing a project that got off to a bad start takes more than technical skill: you have to understand what went wrong, rebuild a sound architecture and restore trust. At the same time, the entire catalogue chain — stock, prices, product pages, images — had to be automated via the suppliers’ APIs, so that no update would ever depend on manual data entry.

The WiMakeIT solution

  • Project takeover — Audit, technical overhaul, stabilisation.
  • Catalogue synchronisation via supplier APIs — Stock, purchase costs, new items, images: everything is automated.
  • Magento Open Source 2.3 — An e-commerce foundation suited to the volume.
  • Support — From understanding the needs to go-live within a few months.

“WiMakeIT listened to us and set up all the interfaces needed to automate the management of our tens of thousands of products. Our initial project had got off to a very bad start with a provider who lacked the technical skills. Fortunately, we then met WiMakeIT. Their experience won us over straight away, and within a few months our new Magento site was live. Updating our stock and purchase costs, creating items and importing product images are now fully automated.”

What this project demonstrates

  1. An e-commerce project that starts badly can be saved — provided everything is put back on the table at the right moment.
  2. Managing tens of thousands of SKUs without supplier APIs means accepting an out-of-date catalogue.
  3. A provider’s technical competence shows from the audit phase onwards, not six months in.
  4. Magento Open Source is enough for massive catalogues when the integrations are clean.
  5. Listening to the client makes as much difference as the tech stack you choose.
